The YMCA is here for good
We believe that every child deserves the experience of YMCA programs, regardless of the financial difficulties their family might be facing. YMCA programs such as child care, camping, swim lessons, youth sports and teen leadership programs do more than teach skills. They also teach confidence. They teach responsibility. They teach young people to be strong in spirit, mind, and body. These experiences stick with kids, helping them to grow into healthy, contributing adults.
Your support of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign provides the funds that allow us to offer membership and program assistance each year. All contributions remain in our local community, giving children and families a chance to grow stronger in spirit, mind and body at the YMCA. We are very proud of the fact that 100 percent of every dollar raised goes directly to families and the programs they participate in.
The needs are great, but there’s a way you can help. By making a donation to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, you help the YMCA provide membership and programs to kids and families who might not otherwise be able to afford them, helping to improve their lives and the quality of life in our community.
What makes the Y different?
At the YMCA of the Palms, our annual Strong Kids Campaign ensures no one is turned away for an inability to pay. In 2009 the YMCA expanded our services to reach more than 25,000 to help them grow in spirit, mind, and body thanks to more than $2.2 million in free, subsidized, or sponsored programs.
Working towards a better community, one person at a time
The demand for YMCA programs and services in the area is increasing. Youth and families seek programs that can improve balance in stressful economic times and allow for positive interaction in the family unit. Through your donation to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, you can:
- Strengthen a family by helping to provide safe, fun and supervised child care.
- Teach a child a new skill such as swimming or sports.
- Develop a love of the outdoors in a youth at a YMCA Camp.
- Surround a senior citizen with a caring community that offers fun and fellowship.

The YMCA of the Palms’ volunteers have a goal to raise $575,000 for the 2010 Strong Kids Campaign in order to better serve the children and families of our community with quality programs and services. The funds we raise support the operations of the YMCA and assist those who cannot afford our fees. While the need is great, the generosity of people just like you can make a difference.
